Help & guides

Everything you need to get the most out of Jordyn.

Ask the Guide
The fastest answer to any question is the round ?help button in the lower-right corner of every page. Ask in plain words — "how do I connect Fastmail?", "what does a presentation cost?" — and the Guide answers from the same playbook this page is written from.

Getting started

1. Create your account — and your industry brain+

Sign up with your full name, work email, and a password (8+ characters), then click the confirmation link we email you. Tell Jordyn your company name (optional) and your industry — Jordyn builds an industry brain on the spot, so it speaks your business's language from the first message.

2. Start your free trial+

The free trial is 14 days with 100 trial actions included. A card goes on file at checkout, but nothing is charged today and you can cancel anytime. An action is one thing you ask Jordyn to do.

When the trial ends, it converts automatically to Jordyn Pro at $149/month (500 actions per month) unless you cancel first. Signed up but haven't added a card? Jordyn is locked until you click Start 14-day free trial on the Usage & Billing page.

3. Connect your email+

The single most important setup step — most of what Jordyn does runs through your inbox. On Connections, Gmail and Outlook connect through the provider's own sign-in screen: click Connect, sign in, and leave every permission box checked — unchecking any limits what Jordyn can do.

Fastmail connects with a key you create yourself instead: in Fastmail go to Settings → Privacy & Security → API tokens, create one with Mail and Calendars ticked, and paste it (it starts with fmu1-) into the Fastmail tile. It's verified and stored encrypted.

You can connect any number of accounts of any mix — open a tile and click + Add another account. Never paste passwords or keys into chat; Jordyn always gives you a secure form instead.

4. Meet your assistant — how chat works+

Talk casually — turning rough asks into precise work is Jordyn's job. Good first asks: "What came in today that needs me?" · "Find every email about [a client] and summarize where things stand." · "Remind me Friday to follow up with Maria." · "Make me a booking page for 30-minute calls, weekdays 9 to 4."

Drafts before sends, always: every outbound email appears as an editable card — To, Subject, Body — and nothing sends until you click Send or plainly say "send it." When there are a few concrete options, Jordyn offers tap-able quick-choice buttons.

Drag or paste anything into chat — PDFs (tables and scans included), images, audio and video (transcribed and watched), zips, spreadsheets. Dictate with the microphone: your words are cleaned up for spelling, never reworded. Click Stop to cancel mid-generation; correct Jordyn once and it remembers across conversations.

5. Round out your setup+

The Account page shows a setup checklist: email connected, email signature (Profile page), industry brain, phone assistant (optional add-on), and payment method — each with a link to finish it.

Where things live: Today (daily briefing and priorities) · Inbox · Chat · Clients · Pipeline · Calendar · Usage & Billing · Account.

Clients, pipeline, and how Jordyn personalizes+

The Clients page lists everyone in your book; each client's workspace gathers their email threads (including everyone at their company domain), files, to-dos, phone calls, and cases — automatically. Add people in chat ("add a contact — Maria Lopez, maria@acme.com"), or ⤒ Import CSV: columns auto-map, nothing duplicates, and Jordyn never imports a spreadsheet without your yes. People who book, register for events, or submit your landing page form become contacts automatically.

The Pipeline shows your cases and deals in motion — stage, pending requirements, and a timeline Jordyn maintains as it works your email. Ask "what's stalled?" anytime. Jordyn learns from your real correspondence — tone, who matters, outcomes — and corrections stick for good.

Connecting more apps — storage, Stripe, and 500+ others+

Beyond email, Jordyn connects to 500+ apps on Connections — storage, chat, payments, CRM, e-signature, and more. Sign-in apps (Drive, Slack, Teams, DocuSign) connect on the provider's screen; key-based apps (Fastmail, Stripe) use a secure form on the tile.

Connect your own Stripe with a restricted key and run your money from chat: payment links, hosted invoices, payment status, reminders, refunds, and coupons — refunds and voids always require your explicit confirmation. For mass email, connect Brevo, Mailchimp, SendGrid, Klaviyo, or Customer.io. Outside systems can trigger Jordyn through inbound webhooks, and companies can plug in their own MCP servers at the bottom of the page.

Security and privacy, plainly+

Email and apps connect through the providers' own sign-in — Jordyn never sees or stores your passwords, and keys are stored encrypted. Your data is strictly isolated per account, is used only to serve you, and is not used to train AI models. Nothing sends without your approval; everything Jordyn does is logged where you can see it — sends on the Sent page, charges in the Account ledger, automation runs in their digests.

Email & inbox

The Inbox: one client for every account+

The Inbox unifies every connected account. The default view shows mail from real people; Promotions and Notifications wait in their own tabs. Actions per email: Archive, Delete, Spam, Read/Unread, star, move to a folder — deleting confirms with a second click, never a popup. Select multiple for bulk actions, pin an email to keep it on top, preview attachments with one click.

Search (two or more characters) searches the actual mailboxes across all accounts at once — and if an account couldn't be searched, the results say which one. The inbox refreshes itself every 45 seconds and instantly when new mail is detected.

Composing and sending+

Reply, Reply All, and Forward from the reading pane, with Cc/Bcc. In a new email, pick the sending account from the account picker — your signature is added automatically. Attach from your computer or stored files (20 MB total), paste images straight into the body, dictate with Record, or hit Make it beautiful to turn plain text into a branded designed email.

Send now, save as draft (lands in your provider's Drafts folder), or schedule from 1 minute to 90 days ahead. After sending you have a 10-second undo window.

Folders — per account, managed inline+

Open the folder drawer from the left edge of the Inbox. Each account's real folders are listed system-first with unread counts; click one to browse it (25 at a time, with Load more). Create a folder by typing the name inline, rename in place, delete via an inline confirmation strip — no popups. If the provider refuses a folder action, the list refreshes to the true state; just retry.

Multiple accounts and the default sender+

The account filter scopes the Inbox to one account or shows all. Pick your default sending account in the account picker — Jordyn uses it when you say "send" without naming one. Replies always send from the account that received the message, and when a send in chat could go from more than one account, Jordyn asks with quick-choice buttons.

Declutter: clear the noise+

Click Declutter for a panel of your noisiest senders: per sender, Unsubscribe, Archive all, or Keep — or Clear the clutter to archive all noise in one go, with a progress bar. Toggle Keep my inbox clean automatically to archive promotional mail on arrival; mail from real clients always stays.

The Sent page: everything that went out+

Sent tracks every email that leaves your accounts — whether Jordyn sent it or you did. Emails sent by Jordyn carry a Jordyn badge and appear instantly; mail sent from your own mail app appears after the next sync (about every 30 minutes, or hit Sync for right now). Filter by source (All / Sent by Jordyn / Sent by you) and by account; click any card to read the full message, jump to the thread, or open the related case.

The morning briefing — with one-tap actions+

Every morning Jordyn emails a briefing of what actually needs you — and skips mornings with nothing to say. Inside: your top 3 priorities, mail that needs action (each linked), case updates, client messages, follow-up nudges, to-dos, and today's calendar.

Act right in the email, no login needed: ✓ done completes a to-do, → tomorrow snoozes it to 9 AM, and Have Jordyn handle it opens chat with the follow-up already drafted. The links are cryptographically signed, so they work only for you. Turn the email off in settings; the Today page keeps working either way.

To-dos and reminders+

"Remind me to send the proposal Friday" files a real to-do; "check my email for bills and remind me" files one per bill, each linked to its source email. The To-dos page groups them into Overdue, Today, Upcoming, No date, and Done — tick to complete, change dates on the row, open the source email with the ✉ button.

"Text me at 4 to call Bill" is a timed reminder — delivered by text if your Jordyn phone line and texting are set up, otherwise by email; Jordyn tells you which channel when it files it.

Campaigns: drip sequences that stop on reply+

A campaign is a short email sequence to one person on a schedule — nurture, win-back, referral asks, welcomes. Jordyn drafts every email and shows all of them before anything sends; defaults are 3 emails, 3 days apart (set 2–5 emails, 1–30 days). Every campaign stops itself the moment they reply — no tracking pixels, no rewritten links.

On Campaigns: Pause, Resume (never compresses to catch up), and Stop (final). Sends from a personal inbox are capped at 50 per day to protect your reputation; connecting a mailing service (Brevo, Mailchimp, SendGrid, Klaviyo, Customer.io) lifts it to 200 per day.

Automations: standing rules+

Describe a rule in chat and Jordyn compiles it, showing a flowchart of exactly what will run before anything does. Three kinds, and only these: email-triggered (incoming mail checked about every 30 minutes), daily (each morning, with a digest of what it did — and with your explicit consent, up to 5 phone calls per run, never the same person twice in 30 days), and event-triggered (a booking, an opt-in, a campaign reply, a finished call, or an inbound webhook).

Every new rule can be tested against your ~50 most recent real emails — you see what would have matched, with zero actions taken. Rules can be disabled or deleted; watch-style rules ("tell me when he replies") expire on their own, about 14 days out. An automation reacts; a sequence that initiates is a campaign — Jordyn keeps the two straight.

Creating things

Documents on your letterhead+

Ask in plain language — "invoice Acme $500 for the site audit", "draft an engagement letter for Maria." Letters, invoices, quotes, receipts, agreements, reports, and memos render on your letterhead, and invoice totals, tax, and document numbers are computed by the system, never guessed. Output as polished PDF, editable Word, or a live Google Doc; court-ready exhibit binders (caption page, exhibit list, optional Bates stamping) and zip bundles too.

The Documents page lists every PDF and Word file with preview, download, email, save-to-cloud, and two-click delete. Set the look once on Letterhead: accent color, logo, your photo, business details, payment instructions and default invoice terms, heading font — with a live preview through the real engine.

Interactive presentations — narrated, click-through, sent as a link+

Say "make a presentation for [name] about [topic]." Jordyn asks a few quick questions, then drafts the script — drafting is free — as an editable card in chat. When you approve, it designs the slides, records the narration, and hands you the share link. Nothing is charged before your yes.

Cost: 10 credits in the standard look (stock imagery), or 31 credits illustrated with custom art per slide. Lengths: short (3 slides), standard (4–5), detailed (6–8). Branding is set once on the Presentations page — colors, heading font, closing-slide button — and the page tracks view counts so you know when someone watched. (Downloadable .pptx decks are temporarily paused; Jordyn offers an interactive presentation or a polished PDF instead.)

Designed marketing emails+

Ask for one in chat and Jordyn collects the brief first — what you're promoting, who it's for, the goal, the tone; it never invents what a campaign is about. The design costs 1 credit and arrives rendered in an editable send card. Love one? Jordyn offers once to save it as a template — sending the same design to a new person is instant; new wording means a fresh design, so it always renders correctly. In the Inbox composer, Make it beautiful turns plain text into a branded design.

AI images, ad creatives, and social posts+

Ordinary art costs 4 credits per image; images that must carry words set correctly (posters, quote cards) cost 7 credits per image. Finished on-brand ad creatives — headline and button set into the image — are 7 credits per creative, in square, portrait, story, and wide formats. Jordyn states every charge before generating, asks which platforms you run on rather than guessing, and refunds credits automatically if a batch fails to render.

"Post about this on my socials" drafts one tailored version per channel (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram) as approval cards — nothing publishes without your click.

The Templates page+

Templates holds everything saved for reuse, in three groups: presentation templates (approved structures — reuse keeps the structure, changes only the person-specific words), email design templates, and custom document templates at any page size — US Letter, half letter, 4x6 and 5x7 cards, business cards, 5x5 square, A4. Click Use to open chat with the ask pre-filled, or just name it: "use my usual presentation for Dana." Templates save only with your approval, and the credit cost of saving a custom document template is stated before saving.

Landing pages and event pages+

"Build me a landing page for the spring special" — Jordyn designs and hosts it at jordyn.app/p/your-page with a built-in lead form; every save is an unpublished draft until you give the go-ahead. Submissions become contacts, email you the details, and can fire an automation.

Event pages live at jordyn.app/e/your-event: registration form, optional capacity, and a meeting link sent only to registrants. New pages start closed so you can review; say "open registration" when ready.

What creating costs — credits, honestly+

Most of Jordyn is covered by your plan's monthly actions; a few operations that cost real computing money are priced in credits, and Jordyn always states the cost in chat before doing chargeable work. Current standard prices: interactive presentation 10 credits (31 illustrated) · image 4 per image (7 with text set in) · ad creative 7 · designed email 1 · deep mailbox scan 1.

Drafts and previews are free — charges land only when you approve a build or save. If a charged job fails to produce anything, the credits come back automatically, and every charge appears in the usage ledger on the Account page.

Calendar & booking

The Calendar: every calendar in one view+

The Calendar merges Google, Outlook, Fastmail, and events created inside Jordyn — bookings, case deadlines, and campaign touches included. Views: Day, Week, Month, Year, and Agenda; pick your time zone, trim the grid to your working hours, start the week Monday or Sunday.

Click or drag in the grid to create an event, or drag a Jordyn event to move it. Invites are email — adding an attendee makes your provider email that person — so Jordyn always confirms before creating an event with attendees. RSVP status shows on events, and overlapping events are flagged by the conflict radar. Handy: drag an email onto the calendar tab and Jordyn creates the event from it.

Finding a time+

Ask in chat: "find me 45 minutes with Maria next week." Jordyn checks all connected calendars, skips weekends, stays inside business hours, and offers up to five real open slots as tap-able choices. Defaults: 30 minutes, within 7 days, 9 AM–5 PM — say otherwise and it adjusts.

Your booking page — set up in one sentence+

"Make me a booking page for 30-minute calls, weekdays 9 to 4" gets you a public link at jordyn.app/book/your-name showing your real availability across all connected calendars. Configure by asking: meeting lengths (15–240 minutes, up to 4 choices), hours, how far out visitors can book (1–60 days), buffer around meetings, time zone, meeting type (in person, phone, Google Meet, Teams, or Zoom), location, and which calendar to mirror to.

Meet and Teams links are created automatically per booking; Zoom uses your pasted personal room link. On each booking: the slot is claimed instantly (no double-booking), the visitor gets a confirmation with a calendar attachment and a private reschedule/cancel link, you get the details by email, they become a contact — and about an hour before the meeting, both of you get a reminder automatically.

What your booking visitors experience+

Visitors see open times grouped by day in their own time zone (yours noted when it differs), fill in name and email (phone and a note optional), and click Confirm booking. Their confirmation email includes a private reschedule-or-cancel link — canceling reopens the slot, removes the calendar entry, and emails you; rescheduling is cancel-then-rebook. If you delete a booking from your own calendar, the visitor is notified politely and invited to rebook.

Event pages with registration+

For a workshop, webinar, or open house: a public page at jordyn.app/e/your-event with a registration form. Registrants get a confirmation with an add-to-calendar button (and the meeting link, which never appears on the public page); you get an email per registration and can ask Jordyn "who's registered?" anytime. When 10 or fewer spots remain the page says so; full, closed, or past events say so plainly.

Billing

Plans, the trial, and how actions work+

An action is one thing you ask Jordyn to do. The free trial is 14 days with 100 trial actions — card on file, $0 charged today, cancel anytime; it converts to Pro when it ends. Jordyn Pro is $149/month or $1,490/year (two months free) with 500 actions per month, resetting on the 1st.

Spending order: your monthly included actions first, then prepaid credits (1 credit = 1 action), and when both are gone Jordyn pauses and points you to the Usage & Billing page.

Credit packs — and what credits cover+

Credits cover actions beyond your allowance and premium work (presentations, images, designed emails). Packs are one-time purchases on the Usage & Billing page and credits never expire: 100 credits — $15 · 300 credits — $39 · 1,000 credits — $99. New trials start with 100 starter credits, and when your balance drops to 10 or below you get an email heads-up (toggle on the Account page).

Where do I see exactly what I'll pay?+

The Account page shows an itemized estimate of the current bill — subscription, phone line, credit purchases — plus meters for actions, credits, and phone minutes, and a dated ledger of every charge. Nothing appears on an invoice that isn't shown there first. You can also just ask in chat: "what plan am I on?", "how many credits do I have left?"

Spending caps and payment problems+

Set a monthly phone spending cap under Cost controls — outbound calls stop at the cap; inbound still lands. If a charge bounces you keep full access while the card is retried ("Payment issue — we're retrying"); if every retry fails the subscription goes on hold — update your card and everything picks up immediately, nothing lost. Purchased credits still work during a hold.

Managing your subscription — and referrals+

Manage billing on the Usage & Billing page (or Payment methods & invoices on Account) opens the secure billing portal: update cards, download invoices, or cancel in two clicks with no penalty.

Give Jordyn, get $50: share your referral link from the Account page. Each referred subscriber earns you a $50 invoice credit, up to 12 a year.

The phone line — what it costs+

An optional add-on for paid plans: $79 one-time activation, $5.00/month for the line, and $0.18/minute for calls in and out (partial minutes round up) — all itemized on your regular invoice at exactly the rates shown on the Account page. Jordyn answers 24/7, takes messages, answers from your FAQ list, places outbound calls on your ask, and texts after a one-time carrier registration.

For agencies

The agency plan — flat and simple+

Resell Jordyn under your own pricing: we bill you wholesale, you set the retail. $60 per client seat per month — no base fee, no included seats, no trial, with a one-seat minimum and seats prorated to the day. Every seat includes 250 actions per month, resetting on the 1st. If a client outgrows the allowance, credit packs bill to the client's own card, never through you — same for add-ons like a phone line.

Start from the Agency console: click Start my agency — $60/client/month, name your agency (it appears on client invites), and complete checkout with a card. A 2-minute tour follows, replayable anytime.

Adding clients — one at a time or a hundred at once+

One at a time: enter the email (name and organization optional) and click Create & invite — the client gets a branded invite from your agency name, and their industry brain installs on first login. Seat billing starts on activation, prorated.

In bulk: click "Adding a group? Paste a list →", paste up to 100 lines ("jane@business.com, Jane Smith"), and click Invite them all. Bad rows are skipped and reported — they never block the rest. A client who hasn't signed in shows "INVITED" with a Resend invite button, so you never pay for seats nobody uses.

Organizations — grouping a client company+

Assign clients to an organization when you add them (or after). Each org gets its own header with user count and total monthly cost, plus org-level Pause org and Reactivate org controls that act on everyone in the group at once — built for a client company with several staff members.

Pausing, reactivating, and detaching+

Pause stops a client's Jordyn and that seat's billing, prorated (they see "Your agency admin has paused this account"). Reactivate turns them back on. Detach (click, then Confirm detach) releases the client — their data stays intact, they can subscribe on their own, and nothing carries over to your bill.

What you can see — and what you never can+

Usage metadata only: each client's actions this month (out of 250), credit balance, and activation status. You can never see a client's emails, files, or conversations — full tenancy isolation is the design, and it's what you can promise your clients.

If your card bounces+

Past-due grace: your clients keep working while your card is retried. Fix it via the billing page before retries are exhausted — only then are client accounts paused. Comped agencies (arranged with us) skip billing entirely.

For invited users: your account through an agency+

Your account is a complete, private Jordyn account — the agency handles the subscription and sees only usage numbers, never your emails, files, or conversations. Activate via the invite email, connect your email on Connections, and start talking to Jordyn.

Your account includes 250 actions per month, resetting on the 1st. Use them all and Jordyn suggests a credit pack — bought on your own card on the Usage & Billing page, yours regardless of the agency, and it never expires. If you see "Your agency admin has paused this account," contact your agency to reactivate; agency payment hiccups never lock you out immediately.

Troubleshooting

"Connection expired — reconnect"+

Providers occasionally sign apps out — a password change, a security review, an expired authorization. Open Connections, click the account's tile, click Connect, and sign in with the same account, approving every permission. Settings and history are preserved. Jordyn also emails you once when a connection drops, with a Reconnect now button.

If the warning stays after reconnecting: refresh the page; then fully disconnect the account and connect it fresh. Still stuck? The account may be restricted at the provider's end (a workspace admin policy) — contact support.

Fastmail token problems+

The key must start with fmu1- and be created in Fastmail under Settings → Privacy & Security → API tokens with Mail and Calendars ticked. If Jordyn says the token lacks Mail or Calendar access, recreate it with both boxes ticked and reconnect.

The inbox is empty or stale+

Click the refresh button on the Inbox — it forces a full sync. Check the Connections page for yellow "needs attention" dots; a stale account stops syncing. If search says results were incomplete, it names which accounts couldn't be searched — retry, and reconnect any account that fails repeatedly.

A send failed+

When a send fails, nothing partial goes out — Jordyn says exactly why and the message stays put. Common fixes: check the recipient address format; pick a From account if none could be resolved; keep attachments under 20 MB total (Gmail rejects over 35 MB including inline images); provider rate limits clear in 10–15 minutes. Scheduled sends must be 1 minute to 90 days out and fail if the sending account is disconnected before then — reconnect and resend.

Sending to several people, Jordyn reports per-recipient truth — "all sent" is only said when every send actually succeeded. Campaign mail queued for the next business-hours window is normal, not a failure.

Can't find a file+

Every file you've uploaded or Jordyn has created is stored permanently and indexed by content — just ask: "find the screenshot where the balance shows overdue." Only temporary download links lapse; the file itself is always there, and Jordyn will never ask you to re-upload. Files live in Assets (everything uploaded or generated), Documents (created PDFs and Word files), and Attachments (from your email).

Images inside uploaded zips are extracted into Assets automatically. Attachments from a disconnected mailbox can't be fetched until it's reconnected. If Jordyn grabs the wrong file, correct it once and the label sticks for good.

Something else?+

Ask the Guide — the ? button in the lower-right corner — or ask Jordyn itself in chat. For anything neither can solve, email support@jordyn.app.
